Chief Operations Officer at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), Dr Christine Greenidge, has resigned.
The hospital’s chief executive officer Neil Clark made the announcement in a memorandum addressed to all staff.
“I would like to inform you that Dr Greenidge, our chief operations officer (COO) has decided to step down from her role. Dr Greenidge has been an integral part of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for nearly three years. During this time, she also stepped in as acting CEO, leading the hospital through several key initiatives.
“Her leadership was instrumental in helping the hospital achieve quality accreditation, a significant milestone that reflects our ongoing commitment to high standards of care and service delivery. In addition to her work on quality improvement, Dr Greenidge has played a crucial role in managing hospital operations during challenging periods and we are grateful for her contributions,” he said.
The resignation was not with immediate effect and Clark said the hospital would continue to work closely with Greenidge over the coming weeks to ensure a smooth and seamless transition. He said any further updates on her responsibilities and next steps would be communicated in due course.
Greenidge, a registered nurse by profession, holds a doctorate in health care administration.
She took up the post of COO at the hospital in 2022.
