Environmental issues force closure of St Luke’s Brighton Primary

Classes at St Luke’s Brighton Primary School came to an abrupt end this morning as a pungent odour impacted staff and students of the Melverton, St George School.

Teachers complained of a burning sensation to the throat as well as burning eyes, reported BUT president Rudy Lovell.
Parents and guardians also reported that their wards were ill.

An environmental hygienist visited the school to conduct an air quality test. (SZB)
