Send a message to sexual predators that the courts will not tolerate their actions and that the island’s children will be protected.
This was the plea from the father of a then teenaged girl who the jury found had been indecently assaulted on four occasions, between 2011 and 2013, by Pastor Vincent Anthony Lowe, gospel singer and head of Prayer Palace Ministries.
“I am asking that the court send a message to predators such as this criminal. I am asking the court to do that because our children have a right to be protected from them,” the father declared in the No. 4 Supreme Court yesterday.
“I have received calls from pastors asking me not to go to the police to deal with this matter. But there were only two ways this matter could have been dealt with, and I am glad that common sense prevailed and the court dealt with it and I did not have to do it,” he declared, adding he was “happy because the trajectory that my life was at the time, I would have been in the dock. I would have been cross-examined as a criminal”.
