BLP celebrates St James North win

It was a double celebration for the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) today as it celebrated the win of the St James North constituency with candidate Chad Blackman as well as its seven years of service to the people of Barbados.

Party supporters, led by political leader and Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley were out this evening on a motorcade in full celebration mode as they started off from the St Alban’s Corner in St James.

Also on board was Blackman, the newest Member of Parliament, as he danced and waved at supporters passing by.

Blackman got the nod from constituents on Wednesday in the St James North by-election, where he amassed 2 723 of the votes for the BLP.

The party started at minutes to 6 p.m. as those on the motorcade celebrated what they dubbed The Big Win with the Big Man across the St James North constituency.

A rally is expected to follow, with a number of speakers in the line-up. (CM)
