Peace in the Eden Lodge, St Michael, and Haynesville, St James, communities was shattered over the last three days with two homicides.
Residents say there had been a period of peace in the communities, but following the first fatal shooting on Monday, this was over.
In Eden Lodge, there were two shootings – one on Monday claimed the life of 24-year-old Donte Tyrell Alleyne, and another on Wednesday left a 19-year-old cricketer in critical condition.
In Haynesville, Terrelle Rogers, 25, succumbed to injuries after being shot while in the area of the Hartland Road and Central Close junction on Wednesday night. He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he died yesterday making him the 21 homicide for the year.
“We didn’t have nothing so for years, and now in ‘two-twos’ we get shootings on Monday and [Wednesday]. But things getting more cruel in the world, every day people getting kill,” said Eden Lodge resident, “Dazzy”.
