‘We Don’t Feel Safe’ march takes aim at rising crime

Barbadians took to the streets this morning in a show of concern over rising gun violence and other violent crimes across the island.

Organised by the Loyal Opposition party, the ‘We Don’t Feel Safe’ march began at Kensington Oval and made its way to Independence Square, drawing attention to what organisers say is a growing crisis in public safety.

Dr Ferdinand Nicholls and Marcia Weeks, two of the march’s lead organisers, said the issue of crime transcends politics and called for urgent national unity.

The march comes amid growing public concern following a string of violent incidents, including shootings and armed robberies in recent weeks.
