Quincy Jones to contest Christ Church Central for the DLP

Quincy Jones, son of former Minister of Education Ronald Dacosta Jones, has formally accepted the nomination to represent the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) in the Christ Church Central constituency for the upcoming general election.

The announcement was made today during a DLP meeting at the Thomas Daniel Building in Hincks Street, Bridgetown.

Speaking at the party’s George Street headquarters today, Jones thanked party members, family, friends, and supporters for their confidence in his candidacy.

“Thank you for trusting my vision and for standing with me on this journey to lift our beloved community,” he said.

Jones told the audience that his decision to run was driven by a deep connection to the constituency.

“Christ Church Central is not just where we live. It is our home,” he said. “This is not just another campaign. This is a movement. This is a calling.”

He promised to focus on improving schools, creating jobs for young people, empowering small businesses, and strengthening community safety.

“I will be your voice, your advocate, and your partner,” he pledged.

Jones also paid tribute to the former DLP candidates who previously served the area, stating: “I honour their contributions and I build upon the foundations they have laid with deep respect and humility.”
