When Cultural Ambassador The Most Honourable Anthony Mighty Gabby Carter returned to court yesterday before Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes in the Criminal Court No.1 of the District “A” Magistrates’ Court, his case was adjourned until October 20.
The decorated calypsonian, 77, of Clapham Park, St Michael is charged with the indictable offence of having sexual intercourse with a female between July 17 and September 8, 2023, without her consent. He was not required to plead to the offence.
On his first court appearance, the nine-time Pic O De Crop winner was released on $10 000 bail and his travel documents were handed over to the court, with the understanding that any desire to travel must come through the court for permission.
That bail remains in place until his next court appearance on October 20.
He was represented by attorney Lesley Cargill-Straker. (SD)
