The Barbados Association of Creatives and Artistes (BACA) has partnered with the Healthier Nation Initiative (HNI) to roll out a new discount card that gives members access to health and wellness services across.
More than 100 businesses have signed on to the programme, offering savings on medical care, gym memberships, massage therapy, counselling, and other services to improve the physical and emotional well-being of those in the creative industry.
BACA President Sean Apache Carter said the initiative was first driven by concerns about non-communicable diseases (NCDs) among entertainers, but later evolved into a broader effort to support member wellness.
“We were seeing a number of creatives dealing with health challenges like diabetes, and we wanted to add value to our membership,” Carter shared.
“But through conversation, it became clear that taking care of our bodies and overall health as creatives was essential.”
The new BACA/HNI Discount Card is available to registered members of the association.
Carter noted that many entertainers often prioritise performance and production demands over their health, and the card is intended to help shift that mindset by making support services more accessible.
For more information, creatives can contact BACA directly or visit their social media pages for enrollment details.
