The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) is monitoring a tropical wave located over 1,300 miles east of the island.
In the advisory issued today, the BMS said the system is expected to approach Barbados between Wednesday, July 23, and Thursday, July 24, as a strong tropical wave.
However, the Met Office emphasised that no watches or warnings are in effect for Barbados at this time.
Current weather models show that environmental conditions are not favourable for significant development over the next few days. As a result, there is still some uncertainty about the level of impact the system could have as it approaches the region.
The BMS said it would continue to monitor the system and provide more clarity in the coming days as models become more consistent.
