Twenty-four individuals have been celebrated as the heroes of St Philip for their outstanding contributions to their communities.
The honorees, recognised for their service across a range of fields—including education, youth development, public health, agriculture, sports, and philanthropy—received the Pride of Barbados Award as part of the We Gatherin’ initiative.
President Dame Sandra Mason presented the insignia to 20 of the awardees during a brief ceremony held at State House on Wednesday. Four additional recipients were acknowledged in absentia.
The local awardees are: Sylvester Trevor Alleyne, Glenville Anthony Blades, Shelley Juliette Blades, J.P., David Gilliam Forde, Earl Andrew Glasgow, J.P., Clandice Anita Gooding, J.P., Neval Greenidge, George Spencer Griffith, CBE, SCM, J.P., Marion Lolita Hart, MBE, BJH, Audrey Erlinthia Inniss, Algernon O’Brien Jones, Esther Onita Larrier, BSS, J.P., Anthony Coleridge Lynch, J.P., Michael Alester Mason, Maria Dalhita Mayers, J.P., Verona Eucleda Seale, J.P., Andrea St.Clair Stoute, Ezra Michael Stuart, Patrick Carmichael Waithe, J.P., and Nigel Ethelbert Weekes, J.P.
Diaspora awardees include: Jacqueline Cecilia Conliffe, Hashim Akil Estwick and Selwyn Errol Holder.
