For the next 18 months, Kevin Leslie Goodridge must stay within the law or spend 12 months in prison.
Goodridge, 44, of Smith Land, Bridge Cot, St George, was given the sentence by Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes after pleading guilty to four drug charges when he stood in the dock of the District “A” Magistrates’ Court No. 1 yesterday.
He was reprimanded and discharged for possession of 6.8 kilogrammes of cannabis, having a traffickable quantity and intent to supply the drugs. However, Chief Magistrate Weekes jailed him for 12 months in relation to cultivating the marijuana, suspended for 18 months, with the advice that few people are able to navigate their was past their suspended sentence deadline.
The estimated value of the drugs was $27 200. Goodridge, a single father, was not known to the court. (SD)
