A new partnership between the One Family Programme and Bridgetown Duty Free, in collaboration with Pages Bookstore and Payce Digital, seeks to reduce the financial strain of back-to-school costs for deserving students and their families by encouraging shoppers to “buy two and give one”.
The initiative was launched at Pages on Broad Street with a presentation of five vouchers worth $500 each from Bridgetown Duty Free to One Family.
Destinee Taylor, One Family’s project officer for Education and Employment, accepted the donation, which will see five families each receive vouchers worth $500 for back-to-school.
Stacey Wharton, Bridgetown Duty Free’s store operations manager, said there are multiple ways for shoppers to donate to One Family’s 2025 back-to-school drive through partnerships with Pages and Payce Digital. She said everyone can contribute, whether through donations or cash.
“From August 5 to 30 this year, shoppers can purchase selected books and supplies from Pages and choose to buy two and give one to support the One Family Programme’s back-to-school campaign. Cash donations are also welcome, and Payce Digital cardholders can donate funds using their cards or from anywhere through the mobile app.”
Additionally, Pages has created a product code (SKU) for the campaign. Anyone wanting to donate can do so at any Pages register using this code.
The One Family Programme is an initiative of the Ministry of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs that mobilises community and private sector support to empower vulnerable families through education, livelihood assistance, psychosocial support, and community development. (PR)
