Barbadian striker Tajio James has joined NK Varaždin this week on a three-year deal after the Croatian first division club confirmed the deal on its official website.
The 21-year-old James, who can also operate as an attacking midfielder, arrives from Rush Soccer in the United States, a partner of Varaždin.
James expressed his delight at the move during his unveiling. “I am happy to have joined Varaždin, an ambitious club with clear goals and vision.
This is a great opportunity for me, and I am motivated to give my maximum to help the team achieve its goals and justify the trust of the club and the fans,” he said.
James featured in Varaždin’s pre-season last month, scoring in a friendly on July 5, which his new side won 4-0 over Hungarian side Paks. Since debuting on the international stage on June 3, 2022, James has earned 15 caps and scored five goals for Barbados’ senior men’s national team.
