Barbados Port Inc. (BPI) has launched an investigation into videos that have gone viral of two workers taking an imported Ferrari on a joyride on the port compound.
In three clips, the two men are seen stepping into what appeared to be a container and admiring a white Ferrari inside. One of the men could be heard saying: “First man to get to drive these here, drive that before the owner and thing, man.”
He cried out in excitement as he filmed several close-ups of the car’s interior.
The second clip bore the words, “This was really moving” and showed the men dressed in highvisibility jackets as they rode in the car shouting with glee and driving around the complex.

In a third video, the two, with their faces shown as they faced the camera, displayed their admiration for the vehicle and recounted how “the men” found the Ferrari and drove it throughout the port.
In a statement yesterday, the BPI said it was taking the matter seriously and addressing it through its formal processes.
“We sincerely regret the incident and acknowledge the concerns expressed among our customers, members of the public and other stakeholders. We are in contact with all relevant stakeholders and appreciate the patience and understanding of all those impacted.”
It added: “With regard to the case depicted in the video in circulation, Barbados Port Inc. does not condone this behaviour, which is contrary to our commitment and obligation as the custodian of cargo received at the Port of Bridgetown.
“We are using this as an opportunity to reinforce the principles outlined in our service charter which calls for professionalism, reliability, quality and timely response at all
levels of the organisation.”
