The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) is advising members of the public that some individuals have been experiencing difficulties reaching the Emergency Ambulance Service through the 511 hotline.
In a statement issued by QEH Communications Specialist Shane Sealy, the hospital said the matter is currently being investigated by the telecommunications provider.
“Please be advised that some members of the public have experienced difficulties reaching the Emergency Ambulance Service via the 511 line. The issue is currently being investigated by the telecommunications provider, and every effort is being made to resolve it as quickly as possible,” the statement read.
“In the meantime, if you are experiencing a medical emergency, please contact Queen Elizabeth Hospital PBX: 436-6450; Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS): 536-4800.”
The hospital added: “We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding.”
