Residents and business owners in St George are being invited to a community meeting this Saturday to discuss flooding at Charles Rowe Bridge and measures to reduce future risk.
The meeting, hosted by the St George North District Emergency Organisation (DEO), will take place at the Valley Resource Centre, Glebe, St George, beginning at 3 p.m.
Officials are expected to present findings from a flood assessment conducted following the November flood event in the area. Concerns and observations from residents and business owners will also be documented during the session.
Participants are being encouraged to share historical information and local knowledge about flooding in the district, as authorities work to identify practical steps to mitigate future impacts and strengthen coordination with national response agencies.
The meeting comes months after 58-year-old Terry Kellman of Lower Estate, St George, was swept away by floodwaters near Charles Rowe Bridge during heavy rainfall in November 2025. His body was later recovered following an overnight search by emergency personnel.
Persons seeking additional information about Saturday’s meeting can contact the St George North DEO at 252-1944 or email deo.stgeorgen@barbados.gov.bb.
