A 21-year-old man has been remanded to Dodds Prison on multiple charges, including murder, firearm and robbery.
Jacobi Tyrike Nicholas Gilkes of Golden Rock, Pinelands, St Michael is accused of the June 16, 2025 murder of Anderson Calderon. He is also charged with firing an unlicensed weapon in public, directly putting Brandon Headley and Raheem Clarkson in harm’s way.
No pleas were taken to the indictable charges when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Deidre McKenna at the Oistins Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
Gilkes was also not required to enter a plea to two separate robbery charges, including that he robbed Jason Chandler of five gold chains valued $11 580, a gold band valued $3 000 and two gold rings valued $400 on September 12, 2025, and robbed Andrew Lewis of a bangle valued at $2 000 on October 2, 2025.
In connection with the October 2 incident, he has also been charged with committing serious bodily harm to Lewis, and unlawful use of a firearm.
Magistrate McKenna remanded him until March 17, when the case will be heard in the District ‘A’ Traffic Court.
