Paradise lose, but remain on top

by Morissa Lindsay

Leaders Paradise Football Club suffered a 3-2 loss to Brittons Hill on Sunday in the Barbados Football Association’s (BFA) Premier League at the BFA Technical Centre in Wildey.

As the battle among the top five contenders in the standings continued to unfold, Paradise breathed a sigh of relief when the nightcap of the tripleheader between defending champions Weymouth Wales and Kickstart Rush Stars ended in a goalless stalemate.

Kickstart entered the match on 14 points, just three shy of overtaking Paradise at the top on 16. However, a draw against Wales did not help their case much.

Therefore, it means Paradise have a one-point lead on 16, Kickstart have 15, Brittons Hill are now jointly tied on 13 points with Ellerton FC, Wales are fourth on 12, and University of the West Indies Blackbirds have moved into sixth position on nine points following their 1-0 victory over Bagtelle in the opening match.
