Police are investigating two fatal shootings which occurred in separate incidents in Christ Church and St Michael during the early hours of Sunday.
In one incident, lawmen said they received a report at about 1:04 a.m. of gunshots being discharged near a business establishment at Cox Road, Frere Pilgrim, Christ Church.
Investigations revealed that several gunshots were heard, and a man who had been attending an event at the establishment was found lying in the car park nearby. He was transported by private motor vehicle to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
In the other incident, Police Operations Control received a report at about 1:36 a.m. of a male body lying at Chapman Cross Street, St Michael.
Initial investigations indicate that the man had been at a bar in the immediate area, where he was involved in a verbal altercation with another person. He subsequently left the establishment, after which gunshots were heard. Police responded, and medical assistance was sought. A medical doctor later visited the scene and pronounced him dead.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the shooting at Cox Road, Frere Pilgrim, or who has information that could assist investigations to contact District βBβ Police Station at 437-4311, Oistins Police Station at 418-2612.
