St Vincent and the Grenadines will host matches in this year’s Caribbean Premier League tournament. Dr Kishore Shallow, made the announcement on Wednesday in an interview with SVG and outlined that there will be “neutral matches” as St Vincent and the Grenadines do not have a franchise team at this time. The match schedule is yet to be made public, but it is understood the games will be hosted at night at the picturesque Arnos Vale Sports Complex, St Vincent.
“To have games here in SVG is really encouraging. We will have three matches, all neutral matches. There will be very exciting matches, I have seen the fixtures, and there is going to be a fantastic atmosphere at the Arnos Vale… the promotion for these matches will start soon.” Dr Shallow told the local news outlet in a clip aired earlier today.
This season there will be seven franchises involved in the tournament, which starts in early August and will climax with the final at Kensington Oval in Barbados on Sunday, September 20. The teams are: Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, Barbados Pride, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Saint Lucia Kings, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, Trinbago Knight Riders, and a new addition in Jamaica, which is yet to be officially named.
