Head coach of the Barbados’ senior national men’s football team Kent Hall was far from satisfied after his side was thumped 3-1 by Saint Martin in their Concacaf friendly international game in Bonaire on Thursday.

Playing at the Antonio Trinidad Stadium, both teams failed to find the back of the net in the first half.
However, Saint Martin changed the complexion of the match in the space of two minutes when Jean-Baptiste Leo scored in the 56th and 57th minutes.
Jaron Oughterson netted the lone goal for Barbados in the 85th minute, but any hopes of a comeback ended when they conceded an own goal three minutes later.
Speaking following the game, Hall said his team paid a heavy price after starting the game badly.
“We were poor today, especially in the first half. It was easily the worst half of football that we have played since I have been in charge. We looked like a collection of players that don’t play together and just come together to kick a ball around. That’s obviously unacceptable at this level of the game,” Hall admitted.
He however, conceded that having several players in the squad drawn from different leagues around the world presented a challenge.
“But that is the nature of international football. We have to be able to go away, come back and reconnect and continue from where we were. Today that was definitely not the case. We were out of sync from the first kick of the game to be honest.
“It had some similarities to the game against Aruba to be honest, where after a shaky start, we just did not settle. It is definitely an area I need to work on,” Hall pointed out.
Hall said he was hopeful of a better performance in their next game
against Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on Sunday.
They will be without the services of one of their best players in Thierry Gale, who will be returning to professional outfit Bolton.
“Unfortunately we won’t have the services of Thierry Gale for the second game, but we are really thankful that he was able to come through. We are really thankful to him and Bolton, but he’s got an important end of season run coming up, they are looking at potential promotion.
“Everyone else should be ready and available and we have to make sure that we give a better account of ourselves in the next match,” Hall said.
“I feel that we have slipped a bit from where we were coming out of the last Nation’s League campaign.”
