A man was wounded in a mid-morning shooting in St Martins, St Philip on Wednesday, in what police described as a drive-by attack near St Martins.
Police have not yet released the victim’s identity.
The incident occurred just before 10 a.m., police said. Initial reports indicated that the victim was walking along the road when a dark-coloured motor car approached him.
Police said: “Initial investigations have revealed that a male was walking along the road, when a dark coloured motor car approached from the front. The occupants of that motor car discharged a number of gunshots, injuring the male before driving away from the scene. He was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) by private motor car. Investigations are continuing into this matter.”
Police urged members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or have information that could assist with the investigation to come forward.
