West Terrace Primary have served early notice of their intentions in this year’s National Sports Council BICO Primary School Football Competition.
Playing in the Dane Alleyne Zone at Orange Hill St James, the defending champions blitzed Sharon Primary 10-0.
In more lopsided results from that zone, Welches Primary defeated St Matthew’s Primary 3-0, St Albans won 3-0 by default over St James Primary and St Stephen’s Primary eased to a 4-0 win over Good Shepherd Primary.
Play also kicked off in the Reginald Haynes/Victor Gas Clarke Zone at Blenheim, where George Lamming Primary and Charles F Broome played to a 2-2 draw, as did Luther Thorne and Wilkie Cumberbatch. St Giles defeated Belmont Primary 2-0, but the day’s biggest winners in the zone were St Paul’s Primary, who stunned St Patrick’s Primary 7-0 and St Cyprians, who completed a 6-0 win over St Ambrose.
Smaller margins of victory were the case in the Keith Grell Griffith Zone.
The game between Westbury Primary and Eagle Hall Primary ended goalless, while Deacons Primary edged Trinity Academy 1-0, Wesley Hall Primary squeezed past Grazettes 1-0, while Eden Lodge Primary was beaten 2-1 by St Mary’s Primary.
Meanwhile, in the Adrian Donovan/Michael Foster Zone, Hilda Skeene made good use of home turf to defeat St Mark’s Primary 2-1, while their St Philip neighbours Bayley’s Primary were defeated 1-0 by Blackman & Gollop. Reynold Weekes Primary dismissed St Martin’s Mangrove 5-0, while there were no goals in the game between St Catherine and Gordon Walters.
