The Maloney Racing team are feeling exceptionally proud this morning as they are in the lead of BCIC Rally Barbados going into the third and final day, thanks to Stuart Maloney and co-driver Kristian Yearwood.
After being on maximum attack all weekend, in the Skoda Fabia Rally 2, a car that Stuart calls the perfect car, the Skoda Fabia RS Rally 2 team completed the final night stage through Ellesmere to be the official leader with a total elapsed time of 28:54.1 minutes.
In a repeat of 2025, Kyle Gregg and Kreigg Yearwood are second in the Ford Fiesta Rally 2 in 29.07.7 minutes, and Stuart and Kristian will be looking to hold on to the lead this year to end the rally on a much better note.
Adam Mallalieu and new co-driver Peredur Davies in the Ford Fiesta Rally 2 are set for their best Rally Barbados finish as he sits third in 29:08.2 minutes. Mark Maloney and Justin Maloney are fourth in a Skoda Fabia Rally 2 with a total elapsed time of 29:10.2 minutes.
Josh Read and Mark Jordan in the Ford Fiesta Rally 2 sit fifth in 29:18.9 minutes, while the team of Jeffrey Panton with Matt Edwards alongside him in their Ford Fiesta Rally 2 are sixth in 29:18.9 minutes.
2026 King of the Hill winner Joe Cunningham reunited with Josh Beer, and the duo are seventh in the Ford Fiesta WRC in 29:23.3 minutes. In eighth are Robert Swaan and Tom Woodburn in 29:37.0, driving the same style of car as Cunningham and Beer.
Ninth are R5 newcomers from Jamaica, Fraser McConnell and Justin Morin in the Skoda Fabia in 29:41.6, and the team Mark Thompson and Ron Greaves are tenth in the Citroen C3 Rally 2 in 29:51.3 minutes.
Barry Mayers and Martin Steinbock in a rear-wheel drive Ford Fiesta, and firmly in charge of the two-wheel drive battle in 29:59.7, which also means they are in 13th place.
“From the beginning, we had a good run, and throughout all the stages, we only had one little mishap on the fourth stage,” said rally leader Stuart. “But other than that, it went great, the car worked well, the team kept it together, and I’m very happy with the result so far”, he continued.
Gregg wished he hadn’t stalled on stage Friday night, as he believes it could have been a different story. But he’s happy to have gained 13 positions today from Friday.
“Well, after last night’s stall on special stage one, I mean, I gave it everything today. In the last two stages of the night, our lights had issues, so we lost some time. But yeah, pace has been good.”
Meanwhile, third-place Mallalieu lamented not starting at maximum attack.
“Started fairly tentative, dropped a little more time in the first loop than I think we would have liked, but overall, pretty solid. I wouldn’t mind some rain, to be honest, to switch things up and keep it interesting. That might let us catch Stuart, but we’ll see.”
The rally is set to restart today from 10.35 am for the final nine stages.
