Twisted Entertainment, producers of the highly anticipated Tipsy Music Festival (TMF), has announced the launch of Tipsy Next Up, a new music competition designed to identify, develop, and showcase emerging Barbadian artists ready to take their careers to the next level.
The initiative forms part of the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting local talent and creating meaningful opportunities for the next generation of Barbadian entertainers to gain exposure, grow their audiences, and access larger performance platforms.
With Barbados continuing to produce some of the Caribbean’s most exciting musical talent, Tipsy Next Up aims to provide aspiring artists with a pathway to greater visibility while helping to strengthen the island’s music ecosystem.
Selected participants will compete for a range of prizes and opportunities, including cash awards, promotional support across the Tipsy Music Festival and Twisted Entertainment platforms, and the chance to perform live at Tipsy Music Festival 2026 before thousands of patrons. Contestants will also have the opportunity to work with a respected and successful Barbadian music producer.
According to organizers, the competition was created to help bridge the gap between emerging talent and mainstream opportunities.
“Barbados has no shortage of talent. Every year we see incredible artists creating quality music, but many of them don’t always have access to the platforms, audiences, and industry support needed to accelerate their careers. Tipsy Next Up is about helping to create those opportunities while giving fans a chance to play a role in discovering and supporting the island’s next breakout star.”
The competition will be open to artists who have been recording music for three years or less and are looking to build their profile within the local and regional music industry.
Participants will be required to submit an original song, artist biography, and promotional photo. Public voting will play an important role throughout the competition, with both local and international audiences invited to support their favourite artists.
The competition officially opened on June 8, with submissions being accepted until June 19.
The Top 6 finalists will be announced on July 2, before advancing to a live finale scheduled for July 4, where one artist will emerge as the inaugural Tipsy Next Up champion.

Eligibility Requirements
● Applicants must have been recording music for no more than three years
● Submitted songs must be original works
● No explicit or lewd lyrical content will be accepted
● Artists must follow @twistedbarbados and participate in promotional activities related to the competition
