A 17-year-old male from Christ Church has been remanded to prison after being charged with multiple offences, including aggravated burglary and firearm-related crimes arising from two alleged home invasions.
He is alleged to have trespassed on the home of Marcel Leroy and stole three gold-coloured chains valued at $1 200, three gold-coloured bangles valued at $1 500, and four gold-coloured rings valued at $1 200, with a total value of $3 900 belonging to Leroy, and at the time of its commission had a firearm.
The juvenile is also accused of unlawfully entering the home of Lana Pennegan and stealing $2 000 belonging to her while having a firearm; that he unlawfully and maliciously engaged in conduct which placed Shemariah Batson in danger of death or serious bodily harm; and that he used a firearm and did not have a valid licence to do so.
Acting Chief Magistrate Douglas Frederick informed the accused that all of the charges were indictable and no plea was taken before remanding him until July 21, when these will be heard by the District ‘A’ Traffic Court.
