Barbados Tridents warmed up for their upcoming Caribbean Premier League campaign with a six-run victory over a Barbados Invitational XI at Kensington Oval on Thursday.
The two sides were playing a Sir Garfield Sobbers Memorial encounter.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, the Tridents amassed 183 for eight from their allotted 20 overs, as Rivaldo Clarke top-scored with 50. The innings came from 34 balls, including six fours.
Kadeem Alleyne added 30, Kevlon Anderson 28 and Shadrack Descarte 21, while for the Invitational XI, Tariq O’Neale took four for 31 and Kemar Smith two for 31.
In reply, the Invitational XI fell just short at 177 for seven, despite a well-played 81 from Shian Brathwaite, who struck seven fours and fours sixes in his 51-ball innings.
Rashawn Worrell added 23 and Zachary McCaskie 16, while for the Tridents, Zishan Motara took two for 16 and Jamar Layne two for 33.
