A 29-year-old St Michael man has been fined $30 000 after pleading guilty to trafficking and importing eight kilogrammes of cannabis valued at $128 000.
Lynson Henderson Cox of Lewis Gap appeared before Magistrate Gayle Scott in the District ‘A’ Traffic Court on Saturday, where he pleaded guilty to both offences.
The Barbados Police Service (TBPS) said the offences occurred on July 13 and involved suspected cannabis with an estimated street value of $128 000.
Cox was ordered to pay the $30 000 fine within six months or spend six months at Dodds prison.
He was arrested and formally charged by the TBPS Narcotics Unit.
