Barbadian triathlete Luke McIntrye came up big at the 2026 Americas Triathlon Junior Cup, blowing away the field to win in 58 minutes and 26 seconds, yesterday in Lima, Peru.
McIntryre, the CARIFTA Games gold medallist over 5000 metres, completed the 50m swim, 18.kn bike ride and 5km run to emerge victorious from a field of 18.
Maximiliano Bobadilla of Chile took the silver medal in 58:40 minutes and bronze went to Uruguay’s Elias Medina Paolucci in 58:52.
McIntrye is preparing for the next month’s World Junior Triathlon Championships in Spain. (SAT)
