Barbadian racer Zane Maloney is swapping teams ahead of Formula E’s 13th season, leaving Lola Yamaha ABT for a seat at Nissan where he will line up alongside reigning-era standout Oliver Rowland.
The move ends Maloney’s two-year stint with Lola and drops him straight into one of the grid’s more formidable garages.
The 22-year-old arrived in Formula E for the 2024-25 season and spent his rookie campaigns building a reputation as a quietly quick, if unlucky, prospect. Across 2025/26 he posted top-ten finishes in São Paulo, Monaco and Tokyo, and by several measures outran his far more seasoned teammate, Brazilian veteran Lucas Di Grassi, out-qualifying him nine times and reaching the qualifying duel three times despite Di Grassi taking the season’s lone win for the pairing.
That partnership closed on a muted note in London, England, where Di Grassi announced his retirement from racing, leaving a vacancy at Lola and Maloney searching for a new teammate. The bigger opportunity, though, opened elsewhere: Nissan driver Norman Nato departed the manufacturer at season’s end, and the team confirmed Maloney as his replacement.
