Quinton de Kock scored a century in a losing effort, as Barbados Tridents were condemned to a third straight Republic Bank CPL defeat by St Kitts Nevis Patriots on Tuesday.
The six-wicket loss in Basseterre also saw the Tridents drop to the bottom of the table.
After being sent in to bat, Barbados lost opener Brandon King for two in the second over, before reaching 53 without further loss at the end of the powerplay.
Zachary Carter and de Kock continued their partnership until Carter was dismissed for 57 off 36 balls in the 13th over, with the score on 119.
Carter hammered seven sixes and one four.
De Kock continued his brilliant innings on the excellent batting surface, before being the next to be dismissed for 106 by Naseem Shah with ten balls remaining in the innings.
De Kock’s innings featured 11 fours and six sixes and came from 57 deliveries.

Sherfane Rutherford added 26 and skipper Chris Green 18 not out from just seven balls as the Tridents, who have been inconsistent with the bat all season, closed their innings on a challenging 217 for four.
Shah was the pick of the Patriots’ bowlers, taking two for 43, while Wanindu Hasaranga and Jason Holder took a wicket apiece.
St Kitts Nevis Patriots made the perfect start to their reply, ending the powerplay at 58 without loss, before easing to 110 without loss at the end of the 10th over.
The Tridents finally made a breakthrough two balls later when Kyle Mayers was run out for 29 off 27 balls, while fellow opener Johnson Charles was dismissed for 78 at the end of the 13th over, with the home team progressing to 132 for two.
Charles top-scored for the hosts during a Player of the Match performance, with his innings featuring seven sixes and six fours and coming from 45 deliveries.
Dasun Shanaka added a quickfire 36 and skipper Jason Holder 18, but it was Andre Fletcher who hit the winning runs with five balls to spare, having smashed three sixes during a whirlwind innings of 22 not out from eight balls.
He was well supported by Wanindu Hasaranga, who hammered 18 from four deliveries.
Daniel Sams took two for 40 to be the most successful Tridents bowler.
Speaking after the match, Tridents skipper Green said he was confident his side had scored enough runs to secure a positive result.
“Really proud of our efforts with the bat (and with ) de Kock’s 100.
“You never like losing games of cricket when one of your top players steps up and gets 100, and with 220 on the board at halfway,” he explained.
While admitting his team did not fully execute with the ball, Green was also critical of a key umpiring decision which saw Patriots’ top scorer Charles being recalled after initially being given out caught.
“We started well and then I think we just lost our way a little bit with the ball.
“The umpires tonight, I thought they managed the game poorly with that decision, in the way that a player goes off the field and then comes back on. I think that needs to be looked at and it’s not a good look for this tournament,” he stated.
The win was the second for the Patriots in seven games and propelled them up the table to five points.
Bottom-placed Barbados have five points from their four games and will be hoping to move back up the table when matches get underway at Kensington Oval this weekend. (KH)
