Caricom leaders discuss Haiti crisis

The on-going political and social environment in Haiti came into sharp focus today, with CARICOM leaders meeting on the issue in Kington, Jamaica.

Barbadian Prime Minister, Mia Amor Mottley, joined the chairman of CARICOM, the President of Guyana, Irfaan Ali, and United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken in putting the matter on the front burner.

Caricom leaders and officials in discussion earlier today in Kingston, Jamaica.

The CARICOM heads also held a pre-meeting that included eminent persons, inclusive of former Prime Minister of St. Lucia, Dr Kenny Anthony, former Prime Minister of Jamaica, Bruce Golding, and other senior officials.

The situation in Haiti has been a matter of international and regional concern for months. (BA)
