Traffic management for Sir Charles Griffith statue unveiling event

The following traffic changes will be in place for the unveiling ceremony of the Sir Charles Griffith statue, which will be held at Kensington Oval on Monday. The event is scheduled to commence at 4:30 p.m.

The traffic lane on President Kennedy Drive and Fontabelle Road closest to Kensington Oval will be blocked to traffic.

Other changes include:

Fontabelle Road will remain open, but traffic will only be allowed to flow in a northerly direction toward Mighty Grynner Highway β€” out of town.

Traffic flowing along Mighty Grynner Highway toward Bridgetown will turn right and left at the Holbourne Junction β€” but will not be allowed to continue straight onto Fontabelle Road.

President Kennedy Drive will remain open, but between Holbourne Junction and Westbury Road junction traffic will only flow eastward β€” in the direction of Eagle Hall.

Traffic coming from Eagle Hall toward Holbourne will be diverted left or right at the Westbury Road junction. No traffic will flow from Westbury Road in the direction of Kensington Oval.

Members of The Barbados Police Service will be on hand to direct and assist motorists and pedestrians at these junctions.
