Alleged car thief denied bail

A 46-year-old man has been remanded to prison on 29 charges, 19 of them for stealing cars and the rest for wounding, criminal damage and traffic offences.

Richard Alexander Alleyne, who is recorded as having no fixed place of abode, appeared before Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday and admitted to the offences that occurred in the District ‘A’ jurisdiction. He was remanded to Dodds and is scheduled to reappear in other jurisdictions to answer the remaining charges.

All the offences occurred between April and September this year.

The 29 charges are:

Theft of motor car – belonging to Adrian Mapp on April 23.

Theft of motor car and contents – belonging to Cyrilene Welch on April 28.

Theft of motor car – belonging to Victor Clarke between July 15 and 16.

Theft of motor car – belonging to Tony Francois between July 18 and 19.

Theft of motor car – belonging to Paul Lewis between July 30 and 31.

Theft of motor car – belonging to Rivan Thomas between July 31 and August 1.

Theft of motor car – belonging to Twain Hackshaw on August 2.

Theft of motor car – belonging to Shelly-Ann Waithe between August 10 and 11.

Theft of motor car – belonging to Kareem Surage between August 15 and 16.

Theft of motor car – belonging to Shirley Clarke-Stuart between August 19 and 20.

Theft of motor car – belonging to Kelly-Ann Jordan on August 24.

Theft of motor car – belonging to Richard Haddock between August 25 and 26.

Theft of motor car – belonging to Petra Phillips on August 28.

Theft of motor car – belonging to Jamie Cadogan between August 29 and 30.

Theft of motor car – belonging to Keith Thompson between August 30 and 31.

Theft of motor car – belonging to Shantelle Alleyne between September 7 and 8.

Theft of motor car – belonging to Umar Kothdiwala between September 18 and 19.

Theft of motor car – belonging to Cheryl Mosley between September 21 and 22.

Theft of motor car – belonging to Katrina Harewood between September 27 and 28.

Theft of registration number plates – belonging to Fredrick Adams between August 27 and September 16.

Wounding – of Elvis Gaskin on June 26.

Criminal damage of motor car – belonging to Camara Reece on August 31.

Criminal damage of motor car – belonging to Carol-Ann Prescod on September 6 and 7.

Criminal damage of motor car – belonging to Nicholas Reifer between September 11 and 17.

Fraudulent use of number plates – on September 28.

Fail to stop at siren September 28.

No driver’s Licence – September 28.

Reckless driving – September 28.
