In a significant development for Barbadian cricket, Dr Rudolph Alleyne, respected academic and sports administrator, has officially announced his candidacy for a position of board member and director of the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA).
The announcement was made via a manifesto-styled document obtained by MIDWEEK SPORT, in which Alleyne outlined his vision for a “new era of integrity, development and inclusion in Barbadian cricket” as well as how he can make an impact on the sporting infrastructure and ecosystem in the island.
Alleyne, head of the Academy of Sport at the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies, brings with him over two decades of experience in sports development, youth mentorship, and governance reform. He also serves in a senior role at the National Sports Council.
“Barbados’ cricket has an extraordinary legacy but to protect that legacy, we must evolve with vision and fairness,” Alleyne noted.
