The Barbados Community College wishes to advise current and former students that, due to some critical changes to the Student Information System (SIS) used by the Student Affairs and Accounts Departments, it will not be immediately able to provide some important services.
The college has been working assiduously to transition to a new SIS administered by the Higher Education Development Unit (HEDU); however, the limited access to the existing system has impacted the two key student support departments.
The abrupt change has made it impossible for the Accounts Department to accept in-office payments of student registration fees. Those wishing to pay registration fees can do so through SurePay (second, third and fourth year students ONLY) or via wire transfer to the Bank of Nova Scotia, Broad Street, Bridgetown, Account number 100006114 (first year and other students).
Despite the challenges, the two affected departments have devised some workarounds so that students with certain requests can still be facilitated, and to avoid inconveniences, we recommend calling the department at 426-2858 ext. 5225.
All queries about the Student Information System should be sent to the Higher Education Development Unit at 535-4056, 535-4060-63, or email manderley@hedu.edu.bb.
