Bushy Park’s key role in the staging of the region’s biggest annual motor sport event, BCIC Rally Barbados, has been further expanded for 2026.
For the first time it will host the Central Service Park for the entire event, from the opening Friday night floodlit SuperSpecial to the Sunday afternoon finish.
The St Philip facility was set to be a hive of activity ahead of BCIC RB26 itself, which runs from May 29 to 31, with the venue serving as ‘Rally Central’ for the nearly 50 overseas entrants and their cars.
This is the 10th year that the Bushy Park pits have been used as Rally Central, the secure storage and service facility which accommodates most of the international and regional competitors.
Thanks to a 50 per cent increase in the total number of cars to be housed for BCIC RB25, additional tentage was erected in the pit lane to create sufficient covered workspace, which will be necessary again this year.
BCIC RB26 Event Director Neil Barnard said he was pleased to see Bushy Park take on a bigger role in the island’s biggest motorsport event.
“Bushy Park is the very best choice to concentrate a number of events and activities for the rally this year.”
“It’s going to be an efficient, accessible base for competitors and organisers and we think spectators are also going to enjoy what we have planned. It ticks a lot of boxes and the team at Bushy Park are fantastic to work with,” Barnard said.
The Auto & Rally Show on May 23, will give fans their only chance to see all of the record number 125 cars expected to start the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) premier event gathered in one place, and the opportunity to mix and mingle with their crews.
Now in its fifth year at Bushy Park, this popular family attraction also features live interviews with rally personalities, test drives on the circuit with local importers, food and beverage booths and a Kids Area.
Scrutineering will take place on a pre-arranged schedule in the days running up to First Citizens King of the Hill (May 24).
