Former West Indies captain Sir Clive Lloyd is appealing for The Right Excellent Sir Garfield Sobers’ legacy to be taught in schools so that children can be educated on his immense contribution to Barbados, the region and the world.
He made the call at an event hosted by Barbados’ High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Edmund Hinkson in London, England, yesterday.
Sir Clive told his audience of Sir Garry’s incomparable genius and said there was no doubt in his mind that his former captain was cricket’s most complete cricketer the world has ever seen.
In the lecture to also commemorate Barbados’ National Heroes Day on Tuesday, he began by describing him as “the GOAT – greatest of all time”, adding there was no all-rounder who could rival him.
