Celtics cry foul

by JAMEEL SPRINGER

Hours before Game 1 of the league finals of the Barbados Amateur Basketball Association (BABA) best-of-five series at the Wildey Gymnasium last night, one of the teams was adamant they would not be playing at that venue.

Yesterday, BABA released a statement (see below) advising that the finals were postponed until Friday, due to two panels on the main floor being damaged and an updated schedule would follow.

Top seed and last year’s losing finalist, CAM Smart Assurance City United Celtics say the dimensions of the court, including the three-point arch, are National Basketball Association (NBA) dimensions.

Basketball in Barbados is played under the regulations of the world governing body International Basketball Federation (FIBA) regulations. Teams played the whole tournament at the Barbados Community College, which is not available due to examinations at that venue this month.
