A 17-member darts team will represent Barbados at two upcoming events in the Bahamas from July 24 to August 2.
According to manager Dave Gittens, the Caribbean Darts Championships and the Championship Darts Latin America and Caribbean will provide an opportunity to showcase the sport, which he believes remains one of the island’s best-kept secrets.
“Perhaps so, but now we’re aiming to change that perspective and shake up the sporting landscape in Barbados.
“We certainly have a team capable of winning these championships. The team has been training since March, and it’s now just a matter of the players accepting the challenge and rising to the occasion,” he said.
The team:
Dakiya Walcott, Dave Gittens, Sheldon Jordan, Felicia Walrond, Wendy Barrow, Roger Edwards, Elouise Martin, Kai Greene, Nicolas Murrell, Lydia Gill, Hartley Henry, Mark Griffith, Cyndi Marshall, Clyde Murrell,Anthony Forde, Donnie Inniss, Kisanka Watts, Colin Mora and Joshua Walrond.
