Police have launched a major investigation after the nude body of a woman was found in a bushy area of Grand View, St Thomas on Thursday evening.
According to police, a report was received at around 5.30 pm, alerting officers to a motionless body in the area. District ‘D’ police officers responded and discovered the lifeless body of a female at the scene.
A medical doctor later attended the location and formally confirmed the death.
Police said investigations into the circumstances surrounding the discovery are ongoing.
Overnight, images of the dead woman went viral across social media.
Detectives are appealing to anyone with information that may assist enquiries to contact the District ‘D’ police station on 419-2726 or 419-1729, Crime Stoppers on 1-800-8477, or the police emergency number at 211.
“All information received will be treated in the strictest confidence,” a police statement said. (BT)
