Ex- ICBL chief pleads guilty to conspiracy, fined

Ingrid Innes, former Insurance Corporation of Barbados Limited (ICBL) chief executive officer, has escaped a jail sentence after admitting her role in a money-laundering conspiracy linked to a bribery scheme involving former government minister Donville Inniss.

Innes, 71, was fined US$7 000 after pleading guilty, in a US Ferderal court, to one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering.

The judge reportedly took Innes’ medical condition into consideration when determining her sentence. She is battling stage three pancreatic cancer.
