Fire officials and ambulance personnel are on the scene of an explosion at the Aquatic Centre, Wildey, St Michael.
A number of loud explosions were heard around 7 p.m. and reports are that chlorine stored on site had exploded.
A number of people hastily evacuated the building as a strong scent of bleach filled the air and the nearby tennis finals at the nearby Raymond Forde Tennis Centre were briefly halted.
Unconfirmed reports are that one person was injured.
