The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) has extended the flash-flood watch for the island.
Periods of light to heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected throughout the day as the first tropical wave continues to affect the island.
A second wave is forecast to bring additional rainfall from late Sunday into Monday, with overall improvement in weather conditions expected by Tuesday.
The BMS warns that there is a medium possibility of flooding, which may result in water accumulation on roads and fields, traffic delays, and some impassable routes. Elevated water levels in ponds and other low-lying areas, as well as minor flooding in storm drains, water canals, and on properties, are also possible.
Residents and visitors are urged to remain vigilant and follow the guidance of the Department of Emergency Management (DEM). The public is encouraged to stay updated through the official websites and social media pages of the BMS, DEM, and the Government Information Service, as well as local media networks.
The flash-flood watch was updated at 12 noon today and will be terminated at 6 p.m. or earlier if conditions improve.
