A burst of colour and creativity filled Bay Primary School on Tuesday as it joined with Wilkie Cumberbatch Primary for a special joint Easter Bonnet Parade.

Students proudly showcased handcrafted bonnets in a lively display, after earlier reflecting on the meaning of Easter during assembly and taking part in morning activities.

The event also underscored a growing partnership between the two schools, as Bay Primary continues to accommodate Class 1 and Class 2 students and teachers from Wilkie Cumberbatch Primary while repair work is carried out at their Pine campus.

Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Bay Primary principal Stacey Blunte described the occasion as both meaningful and rewarding.

“It was a truly heartwarming and successful event. I stand immensely proud of our students,” she said.

“We started with a joint assembly and included the Easter message because we wanted to add some depth and meaning to today’s activities. We did not want students to take part in isolation, but to be engaged creatively while also being grounded in the true significance of Easter,” she added.
