The only part of the fine that Chrishawn Devon Orlando Callender paid was that which was forthwith.
While that initial forthwith payment had saved him from prison a year ago, he found himself on the bus to Dodds Prison yesterday after he reappeared in the No. 5 Supreme Court.
Callender, of 1st Avenue, Rockley, Christ Church, had pleaded guilty, in April 2024, to having a .32-calibre revolver and one round of .32-calibre ammunition on February 11, 2022.
Justice Pamela Beckles ordered him to pay $5 000 of a $12 000 fine immediately. The remaining $7 000 was to be paid in six months, or Callender was looking at 673 days in prison in default for the gun. He was deemed as having served the time for the ammunition.
