Ham thief sent to hospital for evaluation

After stealing two hams a week before Christmas, Jadon Oneal Branker will be spending the remainder of the Yuletide season at the Psychiatric Hospital.

Branker, 22, of 6th Avenue Kendal Crescent, Kendal Hill, Christ Church, admitted, in the District ‘C’ Magistrates’ Court sitting at Oistins, Christ Church, that on December 16 he stole two hams valued $210.64 and four Ensure drinks worth $13, totalling $223, belonging to the Popular Supermarket.

At the Kendal Hill branch, Branker was seen inside with a large bag, into which he placed two Farmer’s Choice hams. He was kept under observation and he never stopped by a cashier.

Security personnel were informed of his actions and Branker was seen heading towards the exit. When he was intercepted by security, he did not cooperate, but instead tried to run from the area. Security stopped him, checked his bag and the items were found.
