Former first-class player Jason Haynes is the new chairman of the national youth cricket selection panel.
The 45-year-old Haynes replaces former chairman Elvis Howard, who remains on the five member panel, which also includes Shirley Clarke,
Roderick Estwick and Nhamo Winn.
In a press release the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) thanked Howard for his stewardship over the years. It said his inclusion in the new panel provides the continuity required utilising his invaluable knowledge of the players at the junior level.
Haynes will continue in his role as a member of the senior selection panel.
The junior panel will continue to oversee the selections of the Under-13, Under-15, Under-17 and Under-19 men’s teams, while also providing input for the Sir Everton Weekes Centre of Excellence.
Meanwhile, Patricia Greenidge continues as chairman of the national women’s junior and senior selection panels. The panel also includes Ulric Batson and Sherwin Campbell.
Campbell has also been named as the new head coach of the women’s junior and senior cricket squads.
The former Barbados captain, who represented the West Indies in 52 Tests and 90 One Day International matches, is earmarked for his first assignment as head coach of the Barbados Under-19 women’s squad, in this year’s CWI regional competition.
