A man has admitted to illegal firearm and ammunition offences, with the court set to hear the facts next week before sentencing.
Inyah Iroyal Jones of Thorpes, St James pleaded guilty in the High Court before Justice Pamela Beckles in the No. 5 Supreme Court to having a Taurus .380 ACP calibre pistol without a valid licence and four rounds of ammunition without a valid permit.
The offences occurred on September 16, 2022.
State Counsel Maya Kellman accepted the plea on behalf of the State. Justice Beckles ordered a pre-sentence report and a record of time spent on remand before adjourning the case until June 16 to hear the facts.
Jones is represented by defence attorney Kyle Watts.
